Yes, in practical and visible ways. Lantr does not guarantee admission or a job offer; those decisions remain with universities and employers. But past Builders have used their Lantr projects successfully in both admissions and recruiting. Some placed a launched product at the top of their activities list and used it as the foundation for essays and interviews. Others put it on their résumé, passed recruiter screens, and discussed the product, code, users, and technical tradeoffs in interviews. A live project that can be opened, tested, and questioned gives an application or résumé far more substance than a course title or certificate.
Lantr is designed for students from middle school through the first year of college, and we have made case-by-case exceptions for second-year university students. There is no single cutoff for starting. Beginning earlier simply gives a Builder more time to improve the first version, reach more users, and grow the project’s real-world impact. If the work needs to fit an admissions or recruiting timeline, Lantr plans backwards from the deadline and adjusts the scope, weekly pace, and launch date accordingly.
The Build Era purchases are eligible for a full refund of the membership fee when requested within seven days of purchase. Any refund terms for customized programs such as the Fellowship are presented in writing before payment.
No. Many Lantr students begin with little or no coding experience. The project scope, curriculum, and technical environment are set around the student’s starting point, while expectations for the finished work remain clear. We look for curiosity, consistent effort, and the willingness to take responsibility for the work.
The Build Era membership is US$790 per year, with the full curriculum, weekly mentor studios, and the Builder community included. The Lantr Fellowship is quoted individually around the student’s customized eight-week plan.
